Why they work together

Finasteride and minoxidil work on different parts of the hair loss process. Finasteride lowers DHT, which slowly shrinks follicles. Minoxidil helps keep follicles in their growth phase longer.

Because they work differently, many providers prescribe them together. The program puts both on one plan, with one provider managing your doses and side effects.

What to expect

Everyone responds differently. Your provider checks in and adjusts your plan along the way.

Months 1–2

Temporary shedding is common as minoxidil pushes out resting hairs. Keep going.

Months 3–6

Many people notice less shedding and early regrowth. Your provider checks in on progress.

Month 12

Full results become clearer. Gains usually reverse after stopping.

Is it right for you?

Your provider reviews each medication separately before prescribing.

Program questions

What if my provider only prescribes one medication?

Then you'll get that medication at its single-treatment price instead of the program price. Your provider decides what's safe and right for you.

Can I switch to the spray instead?

Yes. If you’d rather not take tablets, ask your provider about topical finasteride + minoxidil spray.

Is there a monthly plan?

No. The pharmacy fills this program three months at a time, so it is offered on a 3-month plan only.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel any time before your next billing date and you will not be charged again. Anything you have already paid for still ships.

Important safety information

Last updated

Finasteride: Finasteride is not for use by women or children. Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets. Finasteride can cause sexual side effects, which in rare cases may continue after stopping, and has been associated with depression and thoughts of self-harm. It lowers PSA levels and may affect prostate cancer screening. Propecia® is a registered trademark of its owner. Surna Health is not affiliated with its owner.

Minoxidil: Minoxidil tablets are FDA-approved for severe high blood pressure and carry a boxed warning about serious heart effects, including fluid around the heart and worsening chest pain, at those doses. Use for hair loss is off-label. Tell your provider about any heart or blood pressure problems, and get medical help for chest pain, a fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, rapid weight gain, or fainting.

Some medications in this program are prescribed off-label, meaning for a use not listed on their FDA-approved label. Your provider will discuss the benefits and risks with you.

This is not a complete list of risks. Talk with your provider and read the full prescribing information or medication guide for each medication.
